In this lesson we begin our journey through Luke's gospel asking him to weigh in on our question of Women in Leadership. Our primary focus is on Luke's Infancy Narrative (Luke 1-2), but we also do a quick fly over of the rest of his gospel noting thirteen additional scenes in Luke where women take center stage. We close by reflecting on Luke's depiction of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
In the introduction to this lesson, I promote the idea of conversation as a model for studying the Bible. The heading for a few of these slides is Take Luke Out for Coffee. I have learned these concepts from Gary Collier at the Institute for the Art of Biblical Conversation (IABC).
