Hope

The flower fades,

And darkness comes.

The leaves turn gray,

And bones are numb.

While troubled souls toss in their pain,

Before the sun returns again,

An angel stirs,

A stone is moved,

A corpse filled tomb becomes a womb.

With fragrant spice to mask the pain,

With downcast hearts to face again,

That all is lost,

That fear has won,

That pain is all,

That hope’s undone.

But wait…

Through half lit darkened gloom,

The light reveals an empty tomb.

When all is lost and all is o’er,

And pain moves in and casts its horror,

When fear resides where hope once lay,

Remember resurrection day!
